Recipes - Jarlsberg Lasagna

Try our tempting Nordic-style lasagna made with creamy mellow Jarlsberg.

Serves 4
Preparation Time:
40 minutes

Ingredients:

•  2 medium onions, chopped
•  2 stalks celery, chopped
•  1 Tbs. butter
•  2 pounds chopped meat, salt, pepper, oregano to taste
•  11 oz. can crushed tomato, or 3 cups diced fresh tomato
•  3-4 Tbs. tomato puree
•  12 Lasagna pasta sheets

Cheese Sauce:

•  2 Tbs. butter
•  3 Tbs. flour
•  13 oz. milk
•  9 oz. Shredded Jarlsberg


Saute onions and celery in butter. Brown ground meat; drain. Combine with onions, celery and remaining ingredients; simmer for 15 minutes; add spices. Cook lasagna pasta.

Sauce: melt butter, add flour and milk; stir well and let sauce cook for 8 minutes, stirring constantly. Add cheese until melted.

Arrange layers of meat sauce and lasagna strips in baking dish. Cover with cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
