Ham pie with Old Amsterdam and a fruity cinnamon sauce

Ingredients 4 persons:

For the pie:

  • 1 teaspoon of butter
  • 1 packet frozen puff pastry (300 g)
  • 150 g of cooked ham
  • 150 g of Old Amsterdam
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 100 ml of cream
  • Salt and pepper

For the sauce:

  • 1 packet of frozen berry mix (300 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon of cherry brandy
  • A pinch of cinnamon

Preparation

Butter the small pie moulds and cover them with puff pastry. Make sure you leave a small strip that can be folded over. Cut the cooked ham and Old Amsterdam into strips, mix the two together and put it in the puff pastry moulds. Mix the egg yolks with the cream, salt and pepper and pour this over the ham and cheese strips. Fold the edge of the puff pastry over so that the pies are sealed. Bake the pies in a preheated oven at 220°C for 30 minutes. For the sauce: defrost and heat up the berry mix. Mix the cornflour and water until you have a smooth mixture and add this to the berry mix. Stir well, boil for two minutes and let it cool down. Finally, add the cherry brandy and cinnamon. Place the pies on a layer of sauce and serve.
